Eden Evans
biography
Eden Evans (She/They) is an interdisciplinary artist, vocalist, creative director, and gallery administrator based in Los Angeles. She graduated from University of California, San Diego with a dual Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts—Media and Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts—Music. She currently works as a Gallery Assistant at KP Projects (Merry Karnowsky Gallery), showing works of pop surrealism and originating as part of the underground “lowbrow” art movement. Outside of the gallery and her art practice, Eden has a background in theater performance and direction. Vocal direction credits include Bat Boy at the Morgan Wixson Theatre (Santa Monica), Pippin produced with Muir Musical at UCSD (La Jolla), and Tick, Tick… Boom! also produced with Muir Musical.
A student of experimentation, Eden’s creative modalities include studio and landscape photography, experimental audio/visual design, performance, and code. Her work and ideological interests explore themes of personal identity, gender queerness, control and unpredictability. She maintains that healthy and supportive collaboration, conversation, and critique are essential to building and sustaining artist communities that are capable of effectively challenging the dominant social and hierarchical structures which keep individuals isolated and capitalist subjugation thriving.
